    We Hate Blood Clots!
I haven't posted in a while and this one shouldn't be too long.  Over the last weekend, Andrea began feeling pain in her calf.  It was minor on Saturday, worse on Sunday and by Monday she was limping bad.  She made a doctors appointment for the afternoon Tuesday thinking ti was just a muscle thing.

When she awoke on Tuesday morning Andrea decided not to go to work and bump up her Doctor's appointment to 10AM.  She went and Dr. hunter didn't find anything and wondered if it was a blood clot.  She made Andrea an appointment for an Ultrasound on her leg.  They found 2 Clots behind her knee.  We went back to discuss the results with Dr. Hunter and she had Andrea admitted to Fair Oaks Hospital.

She has been there since Tuesday night and is still there today.  We are waiting for he INR level to rise to somewhere between 2-3.  Yesterday morning it was at 1.1.  Here's hoping it is higher today.

Andrea is doing well but going pretty much Stir Crazy and ready to come home.

Of course there is more to the story than this.  If you want more details or Room # for a visit, let me know.

Comment and I'll give you a letter. You'll then have to list 10 things you love that begin with that letter. After that, post this meme in your journal to give out letters of your own.

I was given the letter "E" by [info]angel_vixen    So here goes...

    1) Eating- No big shock there.  Som of my favorite eateries include Sakura, Maggiano's, Pei Wei/PF Chiangs, Olive Garden and the Texas Roadhouse.

    2) Empire Strikes Back- Was there any doubt I would work some Star Wars into this?  Arguably the best of the 6 Live Action Movies with a terrific twist at the end.

    3) Enchanted- I saw this film in San Diego with Andrea and her friend Ammanda.  Wonderful film and wonderful music.

    4) Elle MacPherson- Anyone who has known me from way back in the day saw the Shrine I had to her in my bedroom when I was a teenager.  For a 5 or 6 year period I had every photo she ever did for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue on my wall.

    5) ECW- Not the new WWECW... I am talking the old school, revolution production of it.

    6) Edward Norton Jr.- One of the best actors of this generation.  I will see a marginal movie if he is in it.  Great range and depth.

    7) Elena - [info]lwilliamsbatman  daughter.  She calls me "Uncle"

    8) Eli Manning-  GO BIG BLUE!  Defending Super Bowl champs!  To quote Deion Sanders... "I BELIEVE IN ELI!"

    9) Elizabeth-  I liked it so much it went into my Daughter's name.

    10) Every day with Andrea!

    Re: Asaia Interview
    1. My dream house must have a Large Bay window.  One larger than I am, so I can stand and gaze out over my Empire!  I definately would like a pool, a hot tub and a man cave basement.  Walk in closets and a jacuzzi tub are a must.  I would like to be on a hill side surrounded by alot of green grass. Enough rooms for the family and a couple of guest rooms.  That's reallty about it.

    2. Michelle Schula was my 1st kiss period.  The first one that had real romantic overtones was Fran Megargee

    3. Hmmm not sure about what all 'Fandom" entails lol.  So I will tell you a high school crush instead.  Hope that is OK... Wendy Baker & Terry Thompson.

    4. Lava Cake from Chili's

    5. Kate Beckinsale

    Packing, packing and more packing...
Andrea and I have been quite busy.  I would say we are somewhere between 80 & 90% packed.  We have one major project left in the Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom.

We have oru big honking closet in the Bedroom, the linen closet in the bathroom and the remaining food and life items in the kitchen.  All in all we have a good jump on things and well on the way to being totally packed by the move on the 21st.

    Basic timeframes....

The owner should be out by the 11th.  We will start moving in some of the necessities on the 11th and 12th.

On the 13th we are picking up our New Bed and our new couch and love seat.  The Verizon FIOS guy is coming to set up the Internet and cable to boot.  We should be living Full Time at the house after that.

Between the 13th and 20th Andrea and I will contnue to move boxes, hopefully this will leave only most of the big stuff for the 21st.  With the amount of people coming for the move, we should be able to form a bucket line up the stairs and just pass the boxes while others move them in on the main level.  All in all I think the move will be quick and only moderately painful.  Any and all help is appreciated... anyone?!?!  Anyone?!?!

    This is exciting.

    It is finished....

As of 6PM tonight Andrea and I officially became home owners!  WHOO HOO!  The current owner is renting back from us for 13 Days so we officially take possession June 11th.  The move date is June 21.  What's even better is we not only had $0 due at close, we actually got a refund check from them for $1000.00.  They actually paid us to buy a house.

To celebrate we went to Outback and then went shopping for each other for Housewarming gifts.  I got Andrea sheets for our new bed, a collage picture frame and a end table with a lamp built in.

Andrea got me a Karaoke machine.

    My Girlfriend is sooooo cool.

    Heaven help our eardrums.

    Another Day... Another Hurdle cleared.
We agreed to terms on the items on the Property Inspection list.  The only thing standing between us and settlement is the Homeowners Association paperwork.   I doubt though there will be anything in it that we would deem as a "deal breaker" at this point.

In short, settlement on the 29th looks to be etched in stone.  We should take posession in early June.  (The owner has the right to rent back up to but no longer than 13 days.)

    The Home Inspection...

    Next Hurdle.... CLEARED!

Our home inspector (who is Andrea's Sister-In-Laws Brother by the by) said the House was in good shape.  He said the biggest expense is usually needing to replace appliances.   In the house they are either all new or recently replaced.

The lone excption was the Hot Water Heater but he said it still had a couple of years before we need to think seriously about replacing it.

The main items on the list were...

An Attic Fan- More to save on the energy bill and help if ever there was a leaking issue.

To Replace the Electrical Outlets for newer ones.

To Replace the Smoke Detectors, they're old.

    CAULKING,  CAULKING AND MORE CAULKING!

The only thing we are going after the seller for is an inspection/repair of the shower wall.  We were told that this isn't an uncommon thing.

We are excited and very much looking forward to the 29th.

From the lowest of lows to the highest of highs...

That was the weekend that was.

Thursday night I headed up to Buffalo with Andrea and her parents.  It is a long doggie drive coming in at around 8 and a half hours.  We got off later than we wanted and we made a detour to see the outside of the new potential house.

Now our nerves were still a little on edge.  We were still awaiting word of the Property appraisal to see how much the Townhouse would be appraised for.

The drive went smoothly and with a two hours plus dinner break, it made the trip more bearable.  We arrived in Buffalo after midnight and played a game of Pinochle to uniwind.

Friday we met up with Andrea's family for lunch and we went to Ted's Hot Dogs.  Very, very nice but still no match for Rutt's Hut in NJ.  We wound up seeing Iron Man that night and all in all it was a pretty good day.  We hoped to hear about the appraisal but we were expecting maybe Saturday or Sunday on that.

Saturday we went to Niagra Falls.   It really is kind of awe inspiring.  Just to be that close to such power... it get's to you.  We rode the Maid of the Mist and I got some great shots with my camera phone.  Before wwe got on though, we received a call about the house.  It appraised for 10K under what we were offering.  That left it all in the sellers cort.  He could take the 10K loss or ask us to split some of the difference.  If the latter happened Andrea and I would have to pass on the house, we just don't have much more $ to put in over what we already are.  regardless we wouldn't know what happens next until they talked to the Property Owner.  What was worse is all of Andrea's family was around.  Everyone kept talking about it while Andrea and I did our best to enjoy the marvel at hand.

We were in the Maid of the Mist Giftshop when we got the call.

The owner agreed to take the 10K less.  Our only hurdles left are now minor ones.  The property inspoection today at 2:30 and the FHA Paperwork and Approval.  These are very minor bumps unless there is some major damage to the house.  We should close on the 29th as scheduled.  WHOO HOO!

After that we had a rowdy, rip roaring lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. It was great and a great time.   A true family celebration.

As some of you may know I love seeing Stadiums.  One of my hobbies is to go to a new Baseball Park whenever I arrive in a new town.  Well Buffalo has no MLB team but they have a NFL team so we went to Ralph Wilson Stadium home of the Buffalo Bills.  There was a team store which delighted Andy (Andrea's Father and big Bills Fan).  We shopped and looked and then met up with the family again at Andrea's Grandparents house for a party.  A good time was had by all.

Sunday was pretty quiet all in all.  Just went to eat a coupel of times.  Got a Beef on Weck, a Buffalo specialty and had some good bonding time with Andrea's Parents.

Monday we did the drive home.

Property inspection today at 2PM.  All well wishers please keep it up!  You are doing great so far.
